ANKARA - Turkey will send humanitarian aid, worth of one million U.S. dollars, to Palestine.
It was reported that studies, carried out within the framework of Palestinian Action Plan, reached to the final stage.
The aid, aiming at improving living conditions of Palestinians, and contribute to the economy of Palestine, covers various areas extending from food to health and infrastructure to education.
The direct aid will be apart from the cash money which Turkey gave to Palestine through United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNWRA).
Meanwhile, UNWRA at a conference held a while ago made a call to member countries to make more contribution to Palestine.
Sources said amount of Turkey's aid, which had started as 100,000 U.S. dollars, was increased to 200,000 U.S. dollars in 2003 and that it would continue increasingly.
Sources said at the conference, several complaints were brought to the agenda that Israel from time to time prevented humanitarian aid made to Palestinian refugees. They said necessary warnings were made to Israel not to prevent aid convoys.
