Russia Captures 10 Uzbekistan-based Hizbut- Tahrir Members

MOSCOW (CÝHAN) - Russian police initiated a nationwide-wide operation against the radical Hizbut Tahrir organization that has carrying out policies of violence and terrorism against the Uzbek leader Islam Kerimov.
The state-run RIA Novosti agency reported that Russian police detained 10 members of the Hizbut Tahrir El Ýslam in the region of Tumen, on suspicion of terrorism.
The Tüzmen region is situated in Siberia, thousands of kilometers from Uzbekistan. Tuzmen Culture Center leader Marat Saybatalov and imam Dmitriy Petrisenko were among the detainees.
The Russian Supreme Court added the Hizbut Tahrir organization to list of the terror organization last year.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbek President Islam Kerimov came together in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent and discussed joint actions against terrorism.
The Hizbut-Tahrir organization has been blamed by the Kerimov administration for the suicide attacks that claimed more than 25 lives in Tashkent in late March.
