ANKARA (CIHAN) - The Turkish Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister, Sami Güçlü met with the Syrian Agriculture and Agricultural Reform Minister, Adel Safar on Wednesday.
The relationship between Turkey and Syria was discussed at the meeting. Minister Güclü said that Safar's visit to Turkey reflects the positive atmosphere and political relations between the countries.
Commenting on the extensive collaboration opportunities between Turkey and Syria, Güclü said that he believes that relations between the two countries will improve.
Syrian Minister Safar also made a statement saying, "We think that our relations with Turkey are at a an important point. These mutual official visits will lead to the development of relations. We want to increase our relations with Turkey to its maximum level".
Safar will also attend the meeting of the Turkey-Syria Agriculture Execution Committee.
Relations between the two countries have improved following the visit of Syrian President Bashar Assad to Turkey in January. Turkey and Syria agreed during the visit to remove land mines in the border area with a view to future organic food cultivation.
