Sener: It Should Be Accepted That There Is A New Situation In Cyprus

LEFKOSA - Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener said on Wednesday that it should be accepted that a new situation emerged in Cyprus after referendum.
Sener visited Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Parliament Speaker Fatma Ekenoglu and Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat.
Speaking at the visits, Sener said it should be accepted that a new situation emerged in Cyprus after the referendum, and stated that measures would be taken about future.
Sener said relations between Turkey and TRNC would continue increasingly in the future.
Sener said the Parliament had important duties for developments, and noted that the most important point is the cooperation between Turkey and TRNC.
''There will always be solidarity and cooperation. Problems are transitory. They can be overcome,'' Sener stressed.
Sener said TRNC's economic strength was important for today and for the future, noting that they were searching for ways to bring TRNC to a more prosperous condition.
Ekenoglu in her part said Turkey was the window of Turkish Cypriots opening to outside.
Ekenoglu said Turkey supported TRNC both economically and politically, stating that Turkish Cypriots were in a process to overcome the problems.
Ekenoglu said Turkish Cypriot people, with the referendum, conveyed to the world the message that TRNC existed and wanted to meet with the world. She said they expected isolations on TRNC to end.
TRNC Prime Minister Talat said Sener's visit took place at a time when Cyprus question was at a new stage and when efforts to integrate with the world accelerated.
Talat said TRNC would always have economic, cultural and social ties with Turkey, and stressed that this was a source of power for Turkish Cypriots.
