LEFKOSA - Ferry service between Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Syria resumed on Monday.
"The voyages -- that have been suspended for some time -- began again after the ship hoisted a Turkish flag," TRNC FM Turgay Avci said during a meeting.
Avci also said the ferry service will continue between Turkish Cypriot city of Gazimagusa and Syrian city of Latakia.
Akgunler firm was arranging the ferry voyages between Gazimagusa and Latakia by a Georgian-flagged ferry. However, the Georgian authorities took back the flag. Then, the company applied to Turkey and got necessary permits for Turkish-flagged voyages.
