Israeli Ambassador To Turkey Avivi Speaks To Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Tuygan By Phone

ANKARA - Israeli Ambassador to Turkey Pinhas Avivi spoke to Turkish Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Ali Tuygan by phone, sources said on Tuesday.
Diplomatic sources noted that Avivi wanted to talk to Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul on the issue, but it could not be possible. Sources stated that instead, Avivi spoke with Tuygan.
Sources quoted Avivi as saying that recent news stories referring to Israel in the press were totally wrong.
Stating that Tuygan noted statements of Israeli ambassador, sources said that he recalled once again sensitivity of Turkish side during the conversation.
In an article in the New Yorker Magazine, columnist Seymour M. Hersh claimed that Israeli intelligence and military operatives were now quietly at work in northern part of Iraq, providing training for Kurdish commando units and running covert operations inside Kurdish areas of Iran and Syria.
