BAKU (CIHAN) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in a joint press conference with Greek President Kostis Stefanopulos that Azerbaijan would follow the policies of European countries and United Nations towards Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus if they change their policy.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Greek President Kostis Stefanopulos in Baku and the two leaders held a joint press conference after personal meetings.
As a response to a Greek reporter's question about the news in World media whether Azerbaijan would officially recognize Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Aliyev responded that if United Nations and European countries change their policy towards Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Azerbaijan will also change his policy toward Turkish Cyprus in this line. Aliyev said that Azerbaijan supports peace in Cyprus and added that people should not believe on the news in media.
Greek President Stefanopulos said that Azerbaijan and Greece were two countries ready to make cooperation in many different areas.
