ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - The Turkish Prime Minister slashed the 10 MPs of his party for issuing declaration to criticize the releases of the ex-MPs of the defunct DEP and pro-Kurdish DEHAP party.
"They were reportedly legends. What legend? They may say I am deputy and am free to make comment. If you are independent parliamentarians, you could make statements. But if you are members of the Justice and Development party, then you can`t make," Erdogan lashed out the ten deputies of AKP who also rapped the Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül for receiving the released former DEP deputies.
Ten members of the Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) had released a statement criticizing the acts of the former deputies of the now defunct Democracy Party (DEP) after their release last Wednesday. They also criticized Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül for receiving the released former DEP deputies.
Turkish Foreign Minister had received the ex-MPs of the Democracy Party on the second day of their freedom.
The AKP deputies said in their declarations that the former DEP deputies took advantage of the government`s democratic policies and committed high treason and by trying to partition the territorial integrity of Turkey.
Speaking in the parliamentary group in Ankara, Erdoðan said that issuing of such declaration would give impression that there is division in the party.
