SAKARYA (CIHAN) - Turkish and Greek poets are coming together in the northwestern Turkish city of Sakarya.
Nineteen Turkish poets, eight Greek poets and one Macedonian poet will convene in Sakarya for the 4th Poetry Evening festival, organized by the Sakarya Governor`s Office in association with the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry.
Poets will recite their best known works in the spectacular shores of Sapanca Lake on June 26. Sakarya governor M. Cahit Kiraç told a press conference on Tuesday that all preparations were completed. The Governor said that they had invited poets from several countries. "This year, we decided to invited Greek poet on the advice of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry."
Kýrac said that they would organize the festival under the title "Friends of the Aegean Sea meet in Sapanca Lake under the Friendship of Poetry."
