Erdogan: Decisions Made At O.I.C. Conference Will Contribute To Reform Movements In Islamic World

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who also acts as leader of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) said on Tuesday, ''decisions made at the 31st Session of the Islamic Conference of the Foreign Ministers in Istanbul last week will make a momentous contribution to the delayed reform movements in the Islamic geography.''
Speaking at the parliamentary group meeting of the AK Party, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''as you know, a decision was also made at the conference about Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). It was pleasing. The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) has begun calling TRNC as the 'Turkish Cypriot State' as its was envisaged in the United Nations Secretary General's plan instead of 'Turkish Muslim community in Cyprus'. When we look at the 30-year static history of the island, I think that will be enough for us.''
