MUNICH - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Saturday everybody should show respect to Turkish Parliament's will regarding the approval of constitutional amendment to lift a ban on headscarf at universities.
"There is a national will at the parliament. Everybody should respect the way it appears," Erdogan told reporters after his speech at the 44th Munich Conference on Security Policy in Germany.
Earlier in the day, Turkish Parliament approved constitutional amendments on two articles (article 10 and 42) of the Constitution that would lift the ban on headscarf at universities.
Upon a question on another amendment on the article 17 of the law on Higher Education Board, Erdogan said, "debates on the articles of the constitution will be completed today. Process regarding the article 17 will begin after that."
