Turkish Parliament Approves Second Amendment To Lift Headscarf Ban At Universities

ANKARA - Turkish lawmakers on Saturday approved the second of two constitutional amendments to ease the ban on headscarf at universities.
403 deputies voted in favor of the amendment, while 108 voted against it in the second round voting.
The amendment will insert a new paragraph to article 42 of the Constitution stating no one can be deprived of his/her right to higher education.
