Parliament Approves First Amendment To Lift Headscarf Ban In Universities

ANKARA - Turkish parliament approved on Saturday the first of two constitutional amendments aiming to lift headscarf ban at universities.
The parliament approved the first amendment on article 10 (equality before law) of the Constitution.
403 deputies voted "yes" for the amendment and 107 deputies voted "no" in the second round of voting.
