Turkey Raises $749 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey has exported 194 thousand 285 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 749 million 5 thousand 294 U.S. dollars in the 42nd week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data of Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey had been exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 152 thousand 467 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 23 thousand 458 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 11 thousand 394 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 6 thousand 996 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 235 thousand 699 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 539 million 782 thousand 666 U.S. dollars.
