ANKARA - Minimum Wage Fixing Commission would convene on Wednesday to set the minimum wage to be valid as of July 1, 2004, sources said on Tuesday.
The meeting will start at 11.00 a.m. at the Turkish Labor and Social Security Ministry.
State Institute of Statistics (SIS) is expected to lay down a proposal for the minimum wage to be valid as of July 1.
SIS had made such a proposal during discussions on the minimum wage valid for the first half of 2004. SIS' proposal was net 396 million 994 thousand 971 Turkish liras (TL).
The minimum wage is currently gross 423 million and net 303 million 79 thousand 500 TL for workers above 16.
