Europe Should Not Interfere In Legal Arrangement Making Use Of Headscarves Possible In Turkish Universities, Oomen-ruijten

BRUSSELS - Ria Oomen-Ruijten, European Parliament's Turkey Rapporteur and Dutch Christian Democrat, said Thursday Europe should not interfere in legal arrangement making use of headscarves possible in Turkish universities.
In a statement made on "headscarf", Oomen-Ruijten indicated that the European Union should not intervene on legal adjustments making the use of headscarves possible in Turkish universities and that Europe has no judgment on this issue.
I am concerned about the possibility that permitting the use of headscarves in Turkish universities may turn into ethical pressure on women to wear headscarves, Oomen-Ruijten also said.
