ISTANBUL - Michael Flewitt, director general of Ford Otosan, said Thursday Ford Otosan would export "Transit Connect" vehicles to USA starting from 2009.
Briefing the reporters on Ford Otosan's exports to USA, Flewitt said "Transit Connect", which was first designed in USA and developed primarily for the European market, would be regenerated by Ford Otosan according to the dynamics of the U.S. market.
He also said the capacity of Ford's factory would be raised to 320,000 vehicles in 2008.
Moreover, Flewitt said Ford Otosan was planning to establish a second factory in order to manufacture "Transit Connect" vehicles in Europe.
Upon a question on whether exports to USA would contribute to the volume of Ford's business, Flewitt said if Ford Otosan succeeded in selling products to the U.S. market, it could sell products to Canada and Mexico as well.
