ANKARA - Turkish Central Bank said Thursday its foreign exchange reserves rose to 72.5 billion USD on February 1st.
The reserves were 71.3 billion USD on January 25th.
In its weekly bulletin, the Central Bank indicated its total gross reserves (foreign currency plus gold) dropped to 116.1 billion USD on January 25th. Of that, 41.6 billion USD was from privately owned companies, including commercial banks while the Central Bank held the rest.
Meanwhile, Turkey repaid 569.8 million USD in foreign debt between February 1st and 6th. Turkey paid back a total of 19.3 billion USD in 2007.
