Higher Board Of Education Is To Decide On Amnesty To Female Students Who Left University Due To Headscarf Ban, Erdogan

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Thursday the Higher Board of Education (YOK) is to decide on an amnesty to female students who left university due to the headscarf ban.
Speaking to reporters at Ankara's Esenboga International Airport prior to his departure for Germany, Erdogan indicated that "the topic of an amnesty for female students who left universities due to the headscarf ban is not on the government's agenda. We will decide on what to do on this issue later."
It is our wish that the negotiations on headscarf will positively contribute to the future of our girls and that those who were left disadvantaged would be compensated, Erdogan stressed.
