I.M.F. Delegation Continued Meetings In Treasury

ANKARA - International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation headed by Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam continued its meetings in Turkish Treasury Undersecretariat, sources said on Monday.
Sources stated that IMF delegation had a long meeting with State Minister Ali Babacan on Sunday afternoon, adding that Babacan and IMF delegation took up latest developments about the 8th review.
Sources noted that IMF delegation and Turkish officials discussed tax reform, social security reform, reducing public debt, privatization and a sustainable public debt policy in meetings that were held at the weekend.
Meanwhile, the letter of intent under the 8th review has not been completed yet.
IMF delegation is expected to depart from Turkey within this week.
IMF Executive Directors Board is expected to convene in August.
At the end of this meeting, the board is expected to approve nearly 660 million U.S. dollars loan tranche.
