Turkey Earns $40 Bln From Privatization In Five Years, Erdogan

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday Turkey has earned 40 billion U.S. dollars from privatization during the reign of his party (Justice & Development Party).
Erdogan attended a meeting at Hilton Hotel in Ankara.
The country had earned a mere 8 billion U.S. dollars between 1984 and 2002, he remembered.

Erdogan said the government did what was required in regard to Turkey's EU accession and with great determination.
"The government makes necessary arrangements to boost standard of living of Turkish people either," he added.
