ISTANBUL - Turkish Eximbank and Citibank have signed a deal on financing of their export receivables.
Citibank Corp. Executive Board chairman Steve Bideshi said Thursday Turkish Eximbank and Citibank will support Turkish exporters under the agreement.
Bideshi noted that Turkish Eximbank offers opportunities to exporters to enter new markets, adding that Eximbank is a pushing force for Turkish economy.
Bideshi said they target to increase the share of Citibank in foreign trade transactions from 5 percent to 12 percent by 2011.
Global trade grew 11 percent and Turkish exports rose 205 percent between 2000-2006, Bideshi said and added that Turkish Eximbank is a part of this success.
