HATAY - U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Ross Wilson said Thursday the United States is not providing arms to PKK or any other terrorist organization.
The arm dealers in the region are selling U.S-made arms, and the United States does not know how those arms are seized by the dealers, Wilson told Ahmet Kayhan, governor of southern province of Hatay.
Wilson said the United States also feels uneasy about it (U.S. arms in hands of dealers) and is investigating how they (dealers) got those arms.
The security is better in Iraq this year when compared with last year, he told.
Wilson said his country is contributing to efforts for peace in Mideast, and the radical decisions of the central government in Iraq are playing an important role.
On headscarf, Wilson said it is a problem Turks will solve by themselves and the United States is not a side.
On the other hand, Wilson said the U.S. government supports Turkey's EU membership bid, and it will be a good model for the region.
