Aziz Kocaoglu Elected Izmir Mayor

IZMIR - Aziz Kocaoglu, the mayor of Bornova town of western province of Izmir, was elected the Mayor of Izmir with majority of vote on Monday.
After demise of Ahmet Piristina, a vote took place at the Izmir Municipal Assembly to elect the new Izmir mayor.
In the vote, Kocaoglu won 59 out of the 61 votes and became the new Izmir Mayor.
Ahmet Piristina died of a heart attack on June 15.
