ANKARA - A tornado killed three people, injured 14 others and destroyed 15 buildings in Sunlu village of Cubuk town of Ankara on Saturday.
The tornado, which started at 01.00 p.m. and lasted nearly 25 minutes, caused heavy damage in three houses and also 12 houses were rendered unusable.
Hayriye Cinci (60), Kursat Cinci (7) and Bahar Cinci (9) died, while 14 people were injured. Several of those injured were in serious condition.
Turkish Red Crescent sent 50 tents, 250 blankets and portable kitchen to the region.
Turkish State Minister Besir Atalay departed for Sunlu village.
