Turkish Parliamentary Investigation Commission Sends Former Energy Ministers To High Tribunal

ANKARA - Turkish Parliamentary Investigation Commission decided on Thursday to send former Energy and Natural Resources Ministers Cumhur Ersumer and Zeki Cakan to High Tribunal.
The commission accused Ersumer of corruption in natural gas agreements, wrong and improper energy policies, causing public loss, and approving improper implementations in the State Water Works (DSI).
Cakan was accused of approving improper implementations in DSI, wrong and improper energy policies and causing public loss.
Under the parliamentary by-laws, the report of the commission will be discussed and voted at the Parliamentary General Assembly.
The report will be voted by a secret ballot at the Parliamentary General Assembly.
Affirmative votes of absolute majority of deputies, equal to 276 deputies, are required to send Ersumer and Cakan to High Tribunal.
