Sixth Tourism Forum Between Turkey And Greece Postponed

AYDIN - The Sixth Turkish-Greek Tourism Forum which was earlier scheduled to start in Samos Island of Greece on June 17, 2004 was postponed, Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry officials said on Thursday.
The ministry officials told the A.A correspondent that the Sixth Turkish-Greek Tourism Forum was postponed as Culture and Tourism Minister Erkan Mumcu and Greek Tourism Minister Demetris Avramopoulos would attend funeral of Izmir Mayor Ahmet Piristina who died of heart attack on Tuesday.
Culture and Tourism Ministry officials said that the date of the forum would be announced later.
Officials added that former Athens Mayor Avramopoulos wanted to attend funeral of Piristina.
Piristina was born in Izmir on April 8, 1952. He was elected as mayor in local elections in 1999. He was re-elected in the local elections on March 28, 2004.
