''WE EXPECT CONCRETE STEPS BEFORE APPRECIATION

LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Foreign and Defense Ministry made a call to international community including UN Security Council on Tuesday and said Cyprus Turk people expected concrete steps regarding the solution vision to integrate with the world.
The ministry statement evaluated the resolution no 1584 of the UN Security Council dated June 11 related to extension of the mandate of UNFICYP.
Referring to the expression of the said resolution that mandate of the UN Peace Forces were extended with the confirmation of ''Cyprus Republic'', the statement said, ''it is clear that this is not a definition that can be accepted by the Turkish Cypriot side. The 'government' mentioned in the decision is the Greek Cypriot side claiming that it is the legal representative of whole Cyprus. It is a fact that Greek Cypriot side does not represent whole of the island and the Turkish Cypriot side. This reality was revealed with the results of the twin referenda held in Southern Cyprus and TRNC simultaneously.''
The statement stressed it is an important deficiency that concerned decision of the UN Security Council failed to include the determinations and evaluations in Cyprus report of the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
It said, ''the decision does not include strong expressions of the UN Secretary General regarding removal of embargoes and restrictions imposed on Turkish Cypriot side. We would like to hope that members of the Security Council will not disregard the developments occurred after April 24 and the views put forth by the sides.''
