ANKARA - The representatives of the countries of the Regional Initiative on Iraq held a special meeting upon the invitation of Turkey in the course of the 31st Session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul on Tuesday.
The unofficial meeting lasted for about one-and-an-half hours.
During the meeting, it was decided to hold the sixth official meeting of the Regional Initiative on Iraq in Egyptian capital Cairo at the end of July, 2004.
Foreign ministers of Turkey, Kuwait, Syria, Iran and Iraq; and representatives of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt attended the meeting.
United Nations Special Envoy Lakhdar Brahimi will also attend the meeting.
Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Syria formed the Regional Initiative on Iraq.
