ANKARA - The Minimum Wage Fixing Commission convened on Tuesday to set the new minimum wage which will be valid as of July 1, 2004.
During the second meeting of the commission, reports of the Treasury, State Institute of Statistics, and State Planning Organization will be assessed.
The Minimum Wage Fixing Commission is comprised of five workers, five employers and five representatives of the government.
While the Confederation of Turkish Labor Unions (Turk-Is) represents workers at the commission, employers are represented by the Confederation of Employers' Unions (TISK).
The current net minimum wage is 303 million 79 thousand Turkish liras (TL) for workers who are above 16 years.
