Turkish P.M. Awards Elvan Abeylegesse With 500 Gold Pieces

ANKARA (CÝHAN) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan awarded Turkish athlete Elvan Abeylegesse with 500 pieces of gold.
The Prime Minister received Elvan in the Prime Ministry on Tuesday and awarded her with 500 Turkish gold pieces for breaking the women's world record in the 5000-meters in Bergen, Norway.
The Ethiopian-born Elvan Abeylegesse broke the women's world 5,000-meter record with a time of 14 minutes and 24.68 seconds at the Bislett Games of the Golden League last week.
