ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - The composite index began Tuesday at the Istanbul Stock Exchange with a selling trend. The index decreased 54 points to 17.025 during the opening five minutes of today's first session when compared with Monday's closing level.
Stocks lost 0,32 percent in value on Tuesday at the beginning of the first session.
The Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) National-100 Index had closed on Monday with a loss of 584 points to finish at 17,079.84. Shares lost 3.30 percent in value and the total trading volume was 197 trillion 568 billion 8 million Turkish Liras. The composite index reached 17,664.46 points at its highest level while dropping to 16,999.73 at its lowest level on Monday.
Today, the market is closely following the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) to be announced on Tuesday and it will be affect an interest rate increase decision by the US Federal Reserve Bank. If the data emerge over the expectations, the markets can be affected negatively. In addition, the auctions to be organized by Turkish Treasury will be followed by the share market on Tuesday.
The IMKB is expected to close today at between 16,500 and 17,500 points.
