Turkish Interior Minister Aksu: We Have A Very Productive Cooperation With Macedonia On Security Filed

SKOPJE - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Monday that Turkey and Macedonia have a very productive cooperation on security field.
Aksu, who is currently in Macedonia upon the invitation of Macedonian Interior Minister Silyan Avramovski, was received by President Branko Crvenkovski and Prime Minister Hari Kostov after his bilateral meeting with Avramovski.
Aksu and Avramovski, who held a joint press conference, said that they discussed security issues between two countries and also bilateral cooperation.
Noting that Turkey and Macedonia have a very productive cooperation on security field, Aksu said that the protocol on security field which was signed between two countries in 1992 should be revised and updated in accordance with current conditions. He added that they held the fourth commission meeting and fulfilled those activities by taking the suggestions of Avramovski into consideration.
Aksu said that Turkey recognizes Republic of Macedonia with its constitutional name and added that Turkey wanted all ethnic societies within Macedonia to live in peace and prosperity. He said that Turkey showed its support to Macedonia with the personnel it sent within the scope of NATO.
Avramovski said in his part that he believed that the visit of Aksu would contribute to further development of bilateral relations between two countries.
