German President Rau Receives Turkish Parliament Speaker Arinc

BERLIN - President Johannes Rau of Germany received Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc who is currently in Germany on an official visit on Monday.
Sources quoted Rau as saying that he supported Turkey's European Union (EU) membership.
Rau said that he supported Turkey's EU membership.
Praising reforms that have been fulfilled in Turkey, Rau said he hoped that results of election on members of the European Parliament would not affect negatively reforms process in Turkey. Rau stressed that Turkey should continue walking on its EU path.
Following his meeting with Rau, Arinc met with Berlin State Parliament Speaker Walter Momper.
