ISTANBUL - Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Islamic Development Bank (IDB) President Ahmad Mohamed Ali said on Monday, ''we are here today to mobilize resources from all of the OIC countries, so that in turn we can help desperate Palestinian people. We must act together.''
Holding a news conference under the 31st Session of Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul, Mohamed Ali said, ''I come to you today with a very important mission for the people of Palestine. In the four years since the inception of the Al Aqsa and Al Quds funds, the crisis to humanity in Palestine has reached proportions that most human beings could not withstand. And it continues with recent examples in Rafah and areas affected by the Segregation Wall. As we move on the ground to reconstruct, destruction and devastation continues to occur.''
''We are here today to mobilize resources from all of the OIC countries, so that in turn we can help desperate Palestinian people. We must act together,'' he stressed.
Mohamed Ali emphasized, ''the need has reached catastrophic proportions. Some recent examples are the effects of the Wall and Rafah. The recent invasion of Rafah has had tremendous impact on thousands of human lives, the trade, industrial and agriculture sectors.''
