Four Kilos Of C-4 Plastic Explosive Captured In Adana

ADANA (CIHAN) - Four kilos of C-4 plastic explosive, pistols and assault rifles of different calibers were captured in a joint operation of police and gendarmerie teams in the southern Anatolian city of Adana on Monday and eleven members of the outlawed separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were detained.
Police and gendarmerie teams carried out coordinated raids into cells of the PKK, which is also known as KONGRA-GEL, in two districts of Adana.
Police sources stated that members of the PKK illegally passed through the Turkish-Syrian and the Turkish-Iraqi borders and reached Adana city to carry out bomb attacks. Police sources added that plans and maps of malls, government buildings, the Security Directorate Building and a courthouse were found.
Adana Police Chief Mehmet Cebe said that the investigation into the plastic explosives was continuing and he did not elaborate on the details of the operation.
On May 28, five PKK members illegally passed through the Turkish-Syrian border and reached Adana, One of the five PKK members was shot dead and the other four terrorists captured alive. After interrogations, the four PKK members, police sources state that the five PKK members had arrived in Adana to carry out attacks in crowded areas like malls.
