Serdar Denktas: Upgrading Our Status Will Be A First Step

ISTANBUL - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Denktas said on Monday that upgrading the status of TRNC in Organization for Islamic Conference (OIC) would be a ``first step`` in international area.
Replying to questions of reporters, Denktas said, ``this will be a first step. It will be an indication. International community will evaluate well the results of the step that will be taken here.``
Denktas said they got support from all the countries they met, noting that, ``it seems there is nobody that will oppose to it.``
Denktas said Saudi Arabia has not yet displayed an attitude, but that he did not think that there would be a negative attitude.
