CHICAGO-ISTANBUL - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said late on Sunday that Turkey was ready to contribute to the peace process in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Erdogan replied to questions of journalists on his way back from the United States to Turkey.
Upon a question about Turkey's proposal to act as a mediator to find a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''the sides will make a decision about the process. If they accept our proposal, we are ready to do our utmost to make a contribution to the peace process in the Middle East. Turkey is the guarantee of peace and friendship in its region.''
