DIYARBAKIR (CIHAN) - Freed Kurdish activist Leyla Zana, attending the rally of pro-Kurdish DEHAP party in stronghold Diyarbakir, said that everybody should struggle and fight for peace not for bloodshed and carnage.
Freed ex-MPs of pro-Kurdish Democracy Party (DEP) attended the "Peace and Democracy" rally in southeastern Turkish city of Diyarbalýr.
Tens of thousand of supporters of pro-Kurdish Democratic People`s Party (DEHAP) come together in Diyarbakir Station Square on Sunday. The supporters chanted slogans in favor of leader of outlawed terror organization PKK/KADEK.
DEHAP chairman Tuncer Bakirhan reiterated ceasefire call to the PKK/KONGRA-GEL and dialogue call to the Turkish government.
Yesterday, the Chairman of the pro-Kurdish Democratic People`s Party (DEHAP) Tuncer Bakirhan has called on the terrorist organization, the Kurdistan Workers` Party (PKK), also known as KONGRA-GEL, to reinstate its ceasefire in Turkey
The recently released Leyla Zana, Hatip Dicle, Orhan Dogan and Selim Sadak arrived in Diyarbakir, strong hold of DEHAP, to attend the "Peace and Democracy" rally. The pro-Kurdish Democratic People Party (DEHAP) has been organizing the rally. DEHAP supporter from provinces of Mardin, Sirnak, Batman, Van and other regions have poured into Diyarbakir Stating Square to show their support.
Starting her speech in Kurdish, Leyla Zana gave peace and democracy messages. "Those who defend the peace process will be winner. If they don`t understand it, if they seek fame and heroism, they will be overcame,"
Nobel nominee Zana said that the broadcasting in Kurdish language is important step to break the taboos. "We should hail it," Zana said. "We don`t want to see the young people die,".
Leyla Zana also called on PKK/KONGRA-GEL to renew ceasefire at least for 6 more months.

DEHAP chairman Tuncay Bakirhan has been accompanying the ex-MPs of defunct DEP.
The Turkish Supreme Court of Justice 9th District Penal Court ordered the release pending appeal of the four ex-MPs of the now-defunct pro-Kurdish. The four have served 10 of their 15-years sentences in Ankara Ulucanlar prison.
The four former deputies had been elected to parliament from several southeastern Turkish cities including Diyarbakir in 1991.
DEHAP will organize rallies in southeastern cities including Mardin, Sirnak, Batman and Bitlis. The 5-day rallies will come to end in city of Van on June 17.
Police took intensive security measures in Station Square in Diyarbakir.
