Turkish Prime Minister Meets With Former U.S. President

CHICAGO - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with former U.S. President Bill Clinton in Chicago late on Friday.
Erdogan, who proceeded from Washington to Chicago, had a meeting with Clinton for about 45 minutes.
Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan attended dinner hosted by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.
Before he came to Chicago, Erdogan attended funeral of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
Erdogan flew from Washington to Chicago on the same plane with King Abdullah of Jordan. Aboard the plane, Erdogan and Abdullah discussed Israeli-Palestinian dispute and Group of Eight (G-8) summit held in Sea Island.
At the summit of the G-8 countries including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada and Russia, leaders will explain their opinions on the United States' Broad Middle East and North Africa project.
The summit is held with participation of ''democratic partner'' Turkey and the countries that were invited under the project.
Erdogan will today attend lunch hosted by American Turkish Council (ATC) and then deliver a speech in the symposium on Middle East organized by Academy of Achievement.
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, King Abdullah of Jordan and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak will also participate in the symposium.
Erdogan, who will visit the Field Museum in Chicago, will attend a reception to be hosted by Mayor Daley in the evening.
After participating in an award ceremony, Erdogan will leave Chicago for Turkey.
