Sener: Negotiations Concerning Extension Of I.M.F. Collaboration Not To Be Delayed Until End Of Year

ANKARA (CÝHAN) - The Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, Abdüllatif Sener stated on Friday that the negotiations for the continuation of Turkey's collaboration with the IMF for 2005 would not be put off until the end of the year.
The Economy Coordination Committee (EKK) headed by Abdüllatif Sener convened on Friday. Sener delivered a press statement in which he said that issues including the latest developments in oil prices over the last week and other economic developments since the previous EKK meeting had been taken on board during the meeting.
In response to a question regarding a possible extra burden on the budget due to the increase in oil prices, Sener said, "There is no problem with the budget balances. We estimated that the oil prices would be between 24 and 28 dollars a barrel when we were preparing the budget. Therefore, there is no problem with the oil stocks."
Sener also stated that the negotiations on the continuation of Turkey's collaboration with the IMF would not be delayed until the end of the year.
