Swedish Scania Signals An Increase In Its Investments In Turkey

STOCKHOLM (CIHAN) - The Swedish company Scania, which is one of the world's most prestigious manufacturers of trucks, buses and automotive engines, is hosting 180 Turkish transport company owners in Sweden as part of the promotion of its new R-Models. Turkish businessmen have also called on Scania to increase its investments in Turkey.
The Sales Director of Scania's Middle East and Southern Asia Regions, Andrei Ovchinkin stated, "We will take a decision on Turkish investments with our Turkish partner, the Dogus Group. This issue depends on demand and demand in Turkey is very high. We expect nearly 2,500 orders for Scania products this year."
The promotion of the company's new R-Models was made to the 180 Turkish transport company owners who were guests for two days in Sweden. The General Manager of Dogus Otomotive, Scania's Representatives in Turkey, Zafer Basar said that the new Scania 4-R series consumes less fuel, is safer for drivers and will have a longer working life. Basar said that Scania aims to sell 3,000 vehicles in Turkey this year.
Scania have 28,000 workers and the capacity to produce 50,000 vehicles annually. Genpar Automotiv Co. Inc., a logistics subsidiary of Dogus Otomotiv Holding A.S. (DOHAS), has recently become Scania's Middle East training base.
