ANKARA (CIHAN) - The recently-released pro-Kurdish former MPs, Leyla Zana, Hatip Dicle, Orhan Dogan and Selim Sadak arrived at the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara on Friday afternoon where they had a 45-minute meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül.
Since the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan is in the US to attend the G-8 Summit, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül received the ex-deputies of the defunct Democracy Party (DEP) on behalf of the Turkish Prime Minister.
Leyla Zana said at the meeting, "While we were in prison, Turkey has changed a lot and the world has changed too, and so have we."
Zana also thanked the Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül for his contributions to the extension of freedoms in Turkey.
The Turkish Supreme Court of Justice 9th District Penal Court on Wednesday ordered the release pending appeal of the four ex-MPs of the now-defunct pro-Kurdish DEP.
The four ex-MPs were freed from Ankara Prison a few hours after the Supreme Court decision on Wednesday
On Thursday the Turkey Foreign Minister had said that everybody should respect the decision of the court.
The four ex-lawmakers of the pro-Kurdish DEP party, released on Wednesday, will visit their hometown Diyarbakýr on Saturday in order to attend a rally.
