LEFKOSA - President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Friday that his country could not accept the constitution annexed to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan`s Plan.
Speaking about the views regarding acceptation of ``Cyprus Turkish State`` Constitution, Denktas said, ``this is totally a wrong approach. There is not such a constitution.``
Denktas said, ``the constitution annexed to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan`s plan can not be accepted by TRNC Parliament and it is not a constitution that has been officially given to Alvaro de Soto by us. We have not given an approach, abolishing our sovereignty and state, to De Soto as constitution. If something has been given, it had been given without our approval.``
Denktas said Annan plan was lifted as one of the sides voted ``no`` to the referendum, stating that, ``the plan is no more valid.``
