DIYARBAKIR (CIHAN) - The four ex-lawmakers of the pro-Kurdish DEP party, released on Wednesday, will visit their former hometown, Diyarbakir on Saturday to attend a rally.
The recently released Leyla Zana, Hatip Dicle, Orhan Dogan and Selim Sadak will arrive in Diyarbakir tomorrow to attend the "Peace and Democracy" rally. The pro-Kurdish Democratic People Party (DEHAP) will organize the rally. DEHAP supporter from provinces of Mardin, Sirnak, Batman, Van and other regions are expected to pour into Diyarbakir to show their support.
DEHAP chairman Tuncay Bakirhan will accompany the ex-MPs of defunct DEP.
The Turkish Supreme Court of Justice 9th District Penal Court ordered the release pending appeal of the four ex-MPs of the now-defunct pro-Kurdish.
The four ex-MPs of the pro-Kurdish Democracy Party were freed from Ankara Prison a few hours after the Supreme Court decision on Wednesday.
The four have served 10 of their 15-years sentences in Ankara Ulucanlar prison.
The four former deputies had been elected to parliament from several southeastern Turkish cities including Diyarbakýr in 1991.
