Gonul Meets With Prime Minister Nano Of Albania

TIRANA - Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul who is currently paying an official visit to Albania, was received by Prime Minister Fatos Nato of Albania on Wednesday.
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Nano said that they attributed special importance of the bilateral relations with Turkey.
Prime Minister Nano stressed that they expected NATO to assess steps taken by Albania for membership during its summit in Istanbul in June.
Meanwhile, Gonul said in his part, ''most of articles of the defense agreements signed between Turkey and Albania have been put into practice. We appreciate steps taken by the Albanian Armed Forces to become a member of NATO.''
He added that Turkey would continue supporting Albania's membership to NATO.
Gonul will be received by President Alfred Moisiu of Albania.
