ISTANBUL - Turkish exports in December rose by 7.68 percent over to the same month of 2006 and reached 9.4 billion USD.
Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) announced Turkish export figures for December 2007 at a meeting held in Istanbul and attended by State Minister Kursad Tuzmen.
Turkish exports between January and December, 2007 grew 23.49 percent compared to 2006 and reached 105.9 billion USD.
Greatest increases in exports took place in sectors of hazelnuts (31.85 p.c.), chemical products (30.08 p.c.), carpets (23.87 p.c.) and transportation vehicles (22.99 p.c.) in 2007.
In December, the greatest exports took place in the industrial sector and reached 8.2 billion USD. In 2007, total industrial exports reached 92 billion USD.
In December, exports of transportation vehicles reached a value of 2.3 billion USD, ready made garments reached 1.307 billion USD, and chemical products reached 1.93 billion USD.
The greatest decline in exports in December was experienced in the leather sector. Exports dropped by 34.61 percent in the leather sector in December.
Top 20 countries that received most of Turkish exports were Germany, Britain, Italy, France, Russia, Spain, United States, Romania, the Netherlands, UAE, Iraq, Greece, Bulgaria, Belgium, Israel, Ukraine, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Algeria.
