KULP - A ceremony was held in south-eastern province of Diyarbakir's Kulp town on Tuesday to remember 27 people, including a village guard, who were massacred by terrorist organization PKK in 1995.
The ceremony organized by Sub-Governorship of Kulp began with a moment of respect and the National Anthem of Turkey.
Speaking at the ceremony, Servet Gungor, Sub-Governor of Kulp, said that the people of Kulp curse once again the massacre of 27 citizens 13 years ago.
"13 years ago, 27 innocent citizens have lost lives due to the terrorist attacks of PKK. The terrorist organization massacred individuals whose only goal in life was to have a calm and peaceful life. We curse once again what happened here 13 years ago and remember our lost soldiers, village guards and citizens with respect. May Allah help our nation not to live such a tragedy again. We have not forgotten the massacre of 27 of our citizens in Hamzali Village of Kulp," Gungor noted.
PKK terrorists killed 19 people, including a village guard, and wounded 6 others in an attack on Hamzali Village in Kulp on January 1st, 1995. Two of the wounded people later died in hospital.
PKK terrorists attacked the same village again on March 16th, killing 6 citizens. Thus, a total of 27 people died in the same village within a period of three months.
