Turkey Raises $718 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey has exported 188 thousand 593 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 718 million 179 thousand 885 U.S. dollars in the 39th week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data of Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey had been exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 148 thousand 376 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 22 thousand 590 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 10 thousand 929 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 6 thousand 698 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 231 thousand 113 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 526 million 99 thousand 734 U.S. dollars.
