National Education Minister Celik Leaves For Kyrgyzstan

ISTANBUL - Turkish National Education Minister Huseyin Celik left for Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday to attend an international meeting organized by UNESCO.
Speaking to reporters at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Celik said that UNESCO decided in its 32nd General Assembly in Paris to hold a meeting entitled, ''Eurasia in the 21st century: a dialogue between cultures or a conflict of civilizations'' in Bishkek.
Celik said that President Askar Akayev of Kyrgyzstan invited Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the ninth President Suleyman Demirel to the meeting and stated that he would attend the meeting on behalf of Erdogan, as Erdogan would pay a visit to the United States.
Stating that he would deliver a speech in the meeting, Celik said that he hoped that this meeting would bring forth a result which would contribute to world peace.
Celik said that he would also visit Manas University and stated that Kyrgyz officials and he would discuss several issues in education field.
